Christmas 2014

What a month! It literally feels like I haven't been able to stop during this month, so I apologise for the lack of posts in the last two weeks. I moved house and left my christmas shopping to the weekend before christmas.. Maybe doing a little on Christmas Eve too. That wasn't too bad to be honest but talk about cutting it fine!
I just wanted to share with you a selection of the Christmas Limited Edition cosmetics I got, some christmas presents and some of the items I picked up whilst shopping through December. I have definitly been impressed by some of the LE Holiday collections cosmetics companies came out with this year, my favourite has to be the Bobbi Brown range. I really love everything about it and they are my first Bobbi Brown items so they are real treasures for me.
Finally, I upgraded my base routine in December and got the Nars Sheer Matte Foundation and the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer. The lady at the counter was so helpful and the colour match is perfect for my skin tone. Although it cam to over £50, I think its definitely worth investing in a good base for your make up. The one thing I forgot? A pump! I opened up the bottle to find I had to smack it on the back of my hand like a bottle of ketchup! Nightmare but I'll struggle on.
I just also want to point out that the Zoeva Eye Brush Set is AMAZING. Oh my lord, it has made my shadow application go from basic to expert! I would honestly recommend to anyone who wants to achieve greatness with this shadow to make an investment in a good set of brushes. So worth it and they are quite purse friendly too.
Now we have moved, I finally have a lovely big bath so I went a little cray cray with the bath products as I was so excited. Matt knows how much I love bath bombs but he likes to be different and went into a gift shop near me and found a bath bomb set. It has four big bath bombs and a little cup cake shaped one which is so cute, if you want to check them out, they are http://bombcosmetics.co.uk.
I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and of course Happy New Year to you all! I hope that 2015 brings you happiness and opportunities!

Scarves, Hats and Gloves Best of the Bunch

It is bloody freezing outside, there's no denying that. It suddenly hit me when I was outside on the phone earlier, it's so cold and it's definitely wrap up weather! I was shifting though my old hats, scarves and gloves when I realised that my favourite wooden knits just weren't cutting it after two years of being loyal and keeping me warm. So, I did a little internet surfing and found some of these on a few sites and thought I would share some of the best ones I've found. High street of course.. I even threw in a floppy hat in because that will still keep you warm and its so cute!
Let me know if you have any of these or where you got your new warmers from!

Winter Boots - Best Picks

If I could pick a season that I love the most, it would have to be winter. I love wrapping up and I love boots! They're so comfy to wear even when they have huge heels or they're ankle ones, I have to have a few pairs to see me through the colder season. I find them to be so stylish and they come in such a huge range that they really do go with any outfit you have. I've picked out a few for evening, day time and super casual. Let me know if you have purchased new boots this season and whether you would wear any of these! Happy wrapping up my lovelies!

Makeup Revolution - Euphoria Bare Palette

If you've been reading my post for a while then you would know that I am a big fan of having a whole make up look in one place. I just think it is so handy and especially when you're traveling as you have all of your essentials in one place. Instead of a palette just for your face or your eyes, Makeup Revolution have made an amazing combination palette of 6 eyeshadows, bronzer, blusher & highlighter. You have a whole look in one place, how much handier do you need to get!

I have tried a few face products from Makeup Rev and I swear the texture of this felt as good as my powders in my Urban Decay Flushed palette. Such a smooth and soft texture made it so easy to blend out on my cheeks. The bronzer is a matte warm toned brown, no orange, the highlighter is a champagne colour with a slight pink tone to it and the blush is a preppy pink colour with a gold shimmer so it gives you a great glow. The three blend well together onto the cheeks, which is key to a natural look because you want to make everything look like its coming from your skin, not the products on your skin.
Makeup Revolution has done well to combine this colours within one palette to achieve a bare and natural glowing look. The six eye shadows are a combination of 4 shimmers for a lid glow and definition then two mattes for a base shade and a transition shade to make the whole look a lot more blended.
I think that this palette is going to be my new favourite essentials as everything thing is there and in one place. It came in VERY handy when I was moving as I could find anything!

If you haven't yet tried any of the Makeup Revolution range, then I would definitely recommend this. It's really amazing how many products they have to offer that are such good quality for the price. With this palette, you can really get a feel of all the textures and finishes their products have to offer and the bonus is that its only £6.
Have any of you tried this? Let me know in the comments below!

Its Not Christmas Without A Good Jumper..

Surely Christmas is the best excuse to wear the coolest/corniest/lame jumpers going right?! I have an Elf jumper that says yes. I've given you a wide range of choices, from every day wearable and cute, to the christmas jumper you will wear for an hour to keep the present gifted happy then take it off.. You know you do it. The only bonus is that these days, they've actually become quite wearable so you won't find anything too corny. Whether it's a christmas style pattern or a huge snow man, it's time to get buying because Christmas isn't the same unless you have one. Of course, let me know if you have an christmas jumpers and leave the links to them so people can find them!

Next Christmas Wish List

Next has always been a love of mine, My mum and my sister has always shopped there so you could say that it has followed the generations! I popped to Next last Saturday and we picked up some cute christmas pieces which you'll see soon in a super christmassy post in the next week or so.
Next are running a competition at the minute where you compile a wish list of some of your top choices on their website for a chance to win an item! As I am moving this weekend, I thought it only be right to throw some home things in mine - I LOVE the faux fur throw, I think that it looks so warm and cosy for the cold evenings that we are having at the minute. The website is full of such wintery pieces which is why I chose to select some PJ's and a new dressing gown to snuggle up in. Also, I have been after a nice pair of tan coloured boots for a long time now so they would be perfect with a green parker coat and a nice pair of jeans.

Does anyone else shop at Next?!

Makeup Revolution The One Fluid Blusher

I can say that I have never ever tried a liquid blusher before. To be fair, the blush sticks were pretty new to me but now I'm completely addicted to them, so I hope these turn into the same situation.
These are relatively new from Makeup Revolution, they come in 5 different colours, Desire which is a hot pink with a shimmer through it, Malibu Ocean which is a golden brown colour, Pink sea is a coral colour but on the pink side, Pink Drew is a baby pink colour which is my favourite colour and Rush Me which is a coral colour but more on the orange side. The two I have are Desire and Malibu Ocean which I think would work perfectly for the deeper skin tones as they are such intense colours.
Its a strange product as you are instantly scared of what its going to turn out like but you just need the tiniest drop on your fingers then blend it out on the apples of your cheeks. It blends out to the softest texture on your skin and that has to be the thing I love the most about it as you think that it would turn sticky but its not instant dry so you have enough time to blend and it gives you a soft matte finish but with a shimmer running through to give you a glow. This formula is completely water proof so theres no need to worry about it sliding around your face throughout the day and they have designed a the formula to be non-pore clogging which is music to my ears as I have an issue with products getting into my pores and causing havoc.
Of course I have to mention the purse friendly price of these treats! They come in at just a mer £3 for enough product to last you for 5 years! You know that the price was going to be on point, why would you expect anything else from Makeup Revolution?!

If you fancy picking a couple up, then you can click here to go straight to their website.

Are you scared of liquid blusher or do you use it often? Let me know!

Review | Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Copper Diamond

My first EVER Bobbi Brown Cosmetics purchase and it was this limited edition beauty. This is the Bobbi Brown, Limited Edition Scotch Rocks Collection shimmer brick in copper diamond and this is my new favourite highlighter.. everything from the packaging to the actual product is stunning. I want to insert the little heart eyes emoji because it makes me feel like that just by looking at it. I bought this a couple of weeks ago because I was getting completely jealous of all this Christmas make up goodness going around and I needed some of it. I think we both need to take a moment to appreciate the beauty of this packaging. Like I said earlier, the packaging is stunning.. with its gold edging and burgundy swirl pattern over the front, it's a staple piece in anyones collection. Even if you're a looser like me and you like to keep things in their orignal boxes then you'll be excited because they box is just a pretty as the actual item! It has a gold embossed Bobbi Brown shield printed on it with two red stripes on so it really does give you that Scottish vibe. I love me some Scotland to be fair, the scenery is just some thing else!
On to other notes, let's talk about the shimmery goodness it's self. It's the same lay out as all the other shimmer bricks, with 5 strips of the same tone colour but just in a range of shades. From the swatches, you can see that they're all very warm toned shades and once they're all swatched together they make a beautiful bronzed colour which would be perfect for tanned skin. I normally keep to the top three shades so its not so over powering whilst it's winter and i'm a little on the pale side.
I love highlighters, always have done and always will do because I just think they make your makeup look so finished and looks like you've taken the time to make an effort. I wear it every day so i'm excited to add this into the collection. Unfortunately, I'm a little late off the mark and I'm not sure where else you can purchase this from but there are so many other shimmer bricks available that are really worth purchasing.

I'm actually thinking of getting a new storage system for my make up so I would love to see some tips or how you would store some of your items!

Review | Makeup Revolution Golden Sugar Blush Palette

I love a good palette, having so many different looks in one product excites me. Yes, that is slightly weird, but I love me some makeup and the more I can get out of one product makes me very happy. This is the third blush & contour palette that good old Makeup Revolution have come out with and of course they have not disappointed with the quality and shades. The palette comes with 8 shades, a range of baked highlighters, shimmery merged blushers and baked bronzer shades which is a whole face look in one place, handy Andy! I love the marble effect from the blushers as they give off a great multi demential colour on the cheeks that makes you glowing. There is a great contour shade in there as well and we all know I love a good contour.. I'm generally quite obsessed with eye shadows (as you all know) so what I actually thought is that you could pack on the champagne coloured highlighter colour onto your eyelids, blend out the corner and crease with a warm light brown shade and create a beautiful naturally shimmery look which can be dressed up for evening time with some liner and lashes or kept for a natural everyday look. This is the thing I love about this palette, it's very versatile and you could create a whole makeup look just using 4-5 of the shades. Not only all of that, it has a HUGE mirror and that seriously earns points for me because I'm always doing my eye make up in mirrors that I can hold so I can see what I'm doing a lot better and this makes life so much easier.
So, I'll just put it out there and let you know that this palette is only £6. Yep, you read that right, my new little multi-tasker is only £6. Considering it's great quality, lovely pigmentation and a great all rounder, you'd probably feel pretty silly if you missed out on this one. You can pick this bargain up on the Makeup Revolution website with the Awesome Double Flick Liquid Liner as well because that is AMAZING too and if you're going to treat yourself you should do it properly.
As the month of December is literally a few days away, I'm thinking that this and a few other items (especially the eyeshadow palettes) would be perfect stocking fillers and let's be honest, at the cheap price it is, they make great secret Santa presents too, double brownie points in the office. Full of smart ideas me..
I have to say that these palettes just keep getting better and better every time a new one comes out, which seriously excites me for the next one. I need to get my hands on the other two palettes available now I've seen this one, I feel stupid for not picking them up in the first place!

Let me know if you have tried this too, I would love to see what you think!

Makeup Revolution Awesome Double Flick Liquid Liner

Me and my liner did NOT get on. Then one day, I received this little gem from the lovely people over at Makeup Revolution and its changed up the whole game. The Awesome Double Flick Liquid Liner is a double ended liner (dur) with a thicker tip and a thinner tip on the opposite end. I have such a hard time getting my liquid liner right as I used to be the fool that bought the liners that have really long wands and you just cant get the precision you want. This is the key point in why this is so much easier to use. As the body of the liner is that bit thicker, when you hold it you are holding it closer to the tip, giving you the ability the be a lot sturdier and giving you the precision you need to create and equal wing. I'm no liner expert but the key is to be really light handed and us small strokes and build up your wing then connect it to your lash line, after that you can then go ahead and fill in the areas that need liner. I've always thought that when you have liner and lashes on, it really pulls a look together and makes it look completed. It may sound stupid and you've probably heard it all before, but practise really does make perfect in the case of liner. It smells fear, so its important to be cool and collected around it, you will master it I promise! This liner is only £3.50 and considering its going give you such an easy life, I would highly recommend a purchase.
I created the look below using the Makeup Revolution Salvation Palette, What you waiting, What you waiting, What you waiting, What you waiting for? which is one of my all time favourite palettes for the neutral shades. Its bloody good to be back creating looks again as I'm finally feeling a lot more positive about situations, so keep an eye out for lots more to come!

MAC Heirloom Collection - Beige Eyeshadow Palette

I'm back with some more MAC on the blog today, what can I say, I'm spoiling you and myself! I picked this little gem up online, the same time as I picked up the Nude Lip Bag set (which can I add, is amazing) because I couldn't handle just picking up once item when there was so much to choose from. If you want to have a look at the first MAC Heirloom post then you can see that here! The packaging is following the same vintage and sparkles inspired look as all the other items which you can see is amazing and I love it because i've never seen anything like it before. I don't have a lot of MAC which may seem odd to you guys but I'm one of these people that likes to peruse the counters and my closet MAC counter is in a Debenhams 40 minutes away. You feel my pain?!
These are my first MAC eyeshadows, so I was pretty excited to check out the pigmentation and all of that palva.. Of course, I wasn't disapointed! The pallete is quite small, which has its upsides and its downsides. The negative side has to be the price, £32 seemed a little steep once I had recieved it. Yes, MAC is technically high end and the formula is great but when you think about a Urban Decay Naked Palette being around the £37 mark with 12 full side shadows and a full size double ended brush where as this is 8 small shadows and a small sample double ended brush. On the upside, this is a perfect for traveling as it is small, compact and still has a good range of warm shades to create quite a few different looks.
The palette consists of two rows of 8 shadows, the first row has Her Mistress which is a cream coloured Matte finish, Sweet Sovereign a very light gold shimmer with a hint of rose Lustre finish, Faire Maiden a shimmery gold Lustre finish, Tempting a chocolate brown with a gold shimmer and again a Lustre finish. On the second row starts with Omega which is a grey toned beige Matte finish, Quintessential is slight darker shade of Omega but with again a gold shimmer and is a Frost finish, Mystery is a cool toned light brown satin finish shade then last but not least Night Whisper is a deep cool toned brown velvet finish. You can achieve a day time and a night time look with this palette and its quite versatile to complexions. All of the shadows were so smooth even with the different finishes, none of the shimmers were at all gritty and they all had pretty bad arse staying power which is handy with oily lids even without primer.
Altogether I'm pretty chuffing pleased that I got my hands on some of this collection as both of my new pieces are top notch!

Have you picked up any of the MAC Heirloom Collection?!
