Review | Makeup Revolution The One Blush Sticks

By now, you're probably thinking that Makeup Revolution can get no better, but of course, they have come out with yet another product that will happily rival a high end brand and put up a damn good fight. Ever tired the Nars Multiples? If its a Yes then you will be shockingly surprised about how these Blush Sticks rival them. If not, then be prepared to save a ton of money because these are £25 cheaper then the Nars Multiples at a money saving price of £5 a piece. Oh how I love a bloody good bargain.
Cream blusher can be a little scarey if the consistency and 'creamyness' isn't correct as it takes a lot of blending but with these, they pat into the skin beautifully, leaving a soft non cakey finish.
In this new line up of blush sticks come in 8 different colours, 4 matte finish and 4 shimmer finish. There is Pink and Matte Pink are quite intense pinks that will give a real flush of colour which would be perfect for darker skin tones. Dream and Matte Dream are my faveourite as Matte Dream is a very pale pink that gives you that glow and Dream could be worn as a highlight with its soft colour and shimmery finish. They would both be good for fair skin tones, like myself. Rush and Matte Rush are coral colours with a slight orange undertones which would look so good with a tan in summer time to make you look really glowing and bronzed. Talking of bronzing, there are also two deep brown sticks called Matte Malibu and Malibu. Now Matte Malibu is perfect for a contour as it's easy to get a straight line because they are in stick form and they blend out so well! On point Makeup Rev!
You can see by the pictures that they are really cream and pigmented. They can also be used on the lips so Matte Dream would be a lovely soft lip for a day time look. I also think that dream would be nice to just pop on your lids for a nice shimmery cream shadow.

So, you know how much they cost, you know that they will easily rival a high end brand, what are you still doing here?! Go, Go, Go!

Winter Survival Guide Part One

It's officially that time of year where everyone wants to go into hibernation. But how do you survive the cold conditions? Looking and feeling ace, that's how.
Let's start from the inside and work outwards because once you feel good on the inside, you look good on the outside - Gok Wan knows.
It's important to realise that during the winter you get a lot less exercise than what you do durin the summer. In the summer, you're walking everywhere and always outside where as in the winter, you're snuggled up on the sofa munching on mince pies. It's important to still get your daily dose of exercise because you can't over eat and get lazy during winter then rush to get back in shape for summer, that's not good for your body. Simple exercises can be done in the comfort of your own home so set yourself up a little 10 minute a day exercise burst. It can consist of anything that will get your heart racing and do a little extra to keep your muscles lean. Here's an example:

30 Seconds Of Each
Squats, REST
Sit Ups, REST
Leg Raises (right leg), REST
Leg Raises (left leg), REST
Crunches, REST
Scissor Lifts, REST
Press Ups, REST
Mountain Climbers, REST
Lunges (alternate legs), REST
Bridge (lay on your back and push your hips up and back down, then repeat), REST

Yes, it's a little extreme and I'm terrible at exercising but it'll make you feel a lot better after it!
Note: Please stretch before and after, I don't want be responsible for you not being able to move the next day..

Exercising is key for an active lifestyle but it's important to eat healthy too. It's not just about the weight, it's important to get many vitamins and nutrients in your body to fight against common colds and feeling rough throughout the winter season. Try waking up to a green tea in the morning and adding fruit snacks in the day in order to help you apply a healthier lifestyle slowly.

Once you're feeling good on the inside, it's time to start looking good on the outside. Keeping warm doesnt mean being puffa jackets and skii boots, you can be stylish whist dressing appropriately for the weather. I have created a few options of the perfect winter day time outfits and all from the highstreet of course!

Topshop

Miss Selfridges

New Look

Boots Shirt Cardigan Jeans Necklace

I love winter clothes so much and these are just a few examples of keeping warm but stylish. I love the idea of dresses and tights for A/W too, just not during the windy weather.. only Marilyn could pull off that look!
Keep an eye out for part two of my Winter Survival guide next week!

Review | Makeup Revolution Atomic Collection

I love lipsticks and Halloween is the only time that I can get away with wearing a bold lip because I'm not going to lie, I'm a little scared to any other time of the year.. Halloween is a great time of the year as you can get away with all sorts of crazy make up and I have definitly started to experiment with different styles so recieving these from Makeup Revolution was perfect timing!
I think the one thing about Makeup Rev is that they're bang on trend, whenever there's a season or something new available  they are straight on it, working out their own verision at great high street prices.
They recently created these 5 lipsticks that consist of some seriously fierce colours, that aren't for the faint hearted but thats okay because like I said, they have come out at the perfect time! The five shades conisit of a vibrant red called Atomic Red, a brown with a burgundy undertone called Make Me Tonight, a dark purple called Make It Right, a dark moss coloured green called Atomic Serpent and last but not least, a bright purple colour called Make Me Magnificent.
All of these shades are so pigmented, especially Atomic Serpent. Although the colours are very vibrant, the consistancy it very wearable as they are lovely and creamy.
I think something I love the most about the Makeup Revolution lipsticks is the packaging. I love that they have the the colour of the lipstick on the lid so when they are sat in a lipstick holder, you know exactly what colour you are going for as soon as you look at them instand of having to find the name or pick each one up and look at the colour. Genis! I love something that let's me be lazy..
WIth the Atomic Collection and the Give Me Nightmares eye shadow palette have you completely set for the perfect Halloween make up this year! Here is a little sneak peak of something I created today. I used the eye shadow palette on the lids includng a little of the Colour Choas palette to make the purple a little brighter then I have Make It Right on my lips. Let me know what you think!

These were goodies sent to me from the lovely people at Makeup Revolution. These are my views.

What's In My Winter Makeup Bag

It's definitely getting colder and that just excites me so much. I'm definitely a winter bug, I love the layers and the hot chocolate. Oh and Christmas. Don't deny it, its coming..
My make up routine slightly changes when it gets colder as it my face starts to get a little bit battered with the wind, rain and snug scarves which means I change up my everyday products a litle bit so I know that they stay winter proof.
The foundation is key to any winter make up bag and I go for one with a thicker, buildable consistency rather than one that is just going to get blown off by the wind. I'm using the Maxfactor Whipped Creme foundation in 40 Light Ivory as it has a great staying power and I can really build it up and work it well into the skin. My skin, even though its oily, can get dry on the forehead area so I use the Nivea Express Hydration Primer which is so good for those little dry areas and it makes my skin feel so soft. Who doesnt want that?
My Hourglass Ambient Lighting palette is on my face all day, everyday because it's just so bloody good and if you don't have it then you're a fool. Its worth the ridiculous amount of pennies you pay for it, trust me! I have a huge thing for highlight so before I apply radiant light, I apply a little of the NXY Liquid Illuminate on the cheek bones to give it that little extra umph because I dont want to be dull during the winter.
We all know how it goes, the weather gets warmer, the lips get cooler. When the weather gets cooler, the lippies get warmer! and yes there are two Kate Moss for Rimmel London lipsticks in there but no, 107 isnt in there because everyone seems to be pulling out that lip colour for the current season. Instead, I have 08 which is a rosey brown colour and 03 which is light beige toned brown. I'm rubbish at describing lip colours, always have been, but they are really warm toned lip colours which are perfect for the colder weather and also, they're different versions of the Kylie Jenner lip which I know everyone has been loving lately! and of course, why wouldnt we all love to look as gorgeous as Kylie..

Does your make up bag change at all over the winter period? Let me know in the comments below!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

There's no intro needed for this post, you and I both know that us ladies (and the 400 men a year that are diagnosed a year too) all need to stick together against the big C and this is the month to show your support thousands of women and men struggling with breast cancer. I just wanted to share a few ways that you can either donate, contribute or show support though out the month of October.

No body realizes but nearly 55,000 people are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in the UK.

That's the equivalent to someone being told every 10 minutes

1 in 8 women in the UK will develop breast cancer in their lifetime.

The second most common death among women is from breast cancer UK and nearly 12,000 people die from it every year.

I just want everyone to realise that life is precious and for some people, they don't get a choice on how they live it as they are just fighting to stay alive. I take my hat off to the people that are brave enough to go through Cancer and it's time we showed those people some support!

It important to know these facts and its also important to know the signs of breast cancer. This photo was taken from the http://www.breastcancercare.org.uk website where you can find all sorts of information about awareness and how you can help!

Review | Makeup Revolution Give Them Nightmares Salvation Palette

Halloween is just round the corner so its time to pull out those dark shadows and get messy with your make up. Makeup Revolution knew this time was coming so they got fully prepared and released this scary palette just in time for us to get our spook on. This is a new palette in the salvation line called Give Them Nightmares. The salvation palettes all consists of 6 matte shades and 12 shades with a shimmer or glitter finish to them which is a great mix. When I received this palette, my mind immediately thought about a ton of ideas for some Halloween looks (watch this space) as theres so many compatible shades. This palette is is limited edition but I think it'll be around for a while.
The thing I love about it is that its completely unique. I literally have nothing like this in my collection which is refreshing as the same browns or earth tones can get boring, you need some fun in your life!
I've gone all out this post and done an arm full of cheeky swatches just to show you how good these shadows really are. What can I say, i'm treating you!
I know that a lot of people are scared of dark or bold colours but fear not! You can just start lightly and build up with maybe a smoked out bottom lash line or just a little crease definition! Practise always makes perfect with shades like these so don't be scared to experiment just before you wash off your make up of the day.
I think the thing that makes this palette amazing is that its only £6. I mean, Makeup Revolution keep making these palettes that I just can't fault. Theres even a giant mirror in there, what more could you want! All they need to do it make brushes now.. *hint hint*
I'm so excited to see if they come out with anything else new in time for christmas!

Does anyone else have this palette?!

If you didn't already know, I'm hold a huge giveaway with Makeup Revolution of 10 eye shadow palettes! Enter here for a chance to win!

September Faves '14

Gah.. September is over, which means we have like 2 months and a few weeks and its Christmas! I LOVE CHRISTMAS.I feel like all of my monthly favourites start with me being shocked about how close it is until 2015. I can't help it!
So with a lot of these have longer reviews that I have posted so I won't go into extreme detail because you can go have a gander at the bigger reviews.  I'm lazy I know..
Lets talk about my pretty pink blusher from the MAC Simpson Collection. I got this blush a few weeks ago and did a little cheeky review, pretty much within a day of receiving it. Yes i'm that obsessed! The colour gives me such a pretty glow which I love and although its not really an autumnal, I'm always happy for my skin to look all glowy and pretty.
The next item just follows on with obsessing with things, as you would know if you follow my twitter. As soon as I picked up this Soap and Glory Archery brow tint pencil thingy and got home, I was completely raving about how amazing it is. I wrote a review within like 24hours as its just the bomb dignity.
I say that word so much but I feel like you understand my love for something if I use it..
So the S&G amazing brow pencil thingy, literally makes my brows look so naturally defined as the tint end coats each brow hair making it look darker and fuller, giving you amazing definition.
I am gutted that we don't get amazing lashes over here like they do in the USA and when I got to new York, I will be stocking up and they look soooooo much better than our ones! But I do have to put these ones in the faves this month as I am for one, loving the new Eylure packaging as its so strong and eye catching and makes the lashes look more attractive. These ones are great for just pulling together a look and they can even be worn day or night and they just look like your lashes but longer and better. Who doesn't want that?
Let's just talk about the hate I have for my lips being all dry and sore and gross. It truly is such a pet hate of mine as its so uncomfortable and I have rather large lips which means there is more space for them to get all chapped and horrid! Grr. My little beacon of hope during this stressful bad lip time has been the EOS balms. I only have the one as I'm saving getting another one until NYC, but this is the best thing I have used to put on my lips. I've heard a few people say it made their lips worse but it really has helped mine so so so much and for a lip balm, they smell lush and relatively inexpensive. WIN.
Stay with me, we're nearly there.
Onto this bottle of joy! I have to admit that I have been abusing my eyes and not being purchasing good products to wipe off my eye make up and I have suffered. I'm am missing quite a lot of eye lashes on my right eye and it is horrendous. If anyone knows any good ways to grow your lashes then please let me know and I need serious help!!
I saw the Garnier Express 2 in 1 eye make up remover and I thought I would give it a whizz as there wasn't much to lose considering how many lashes I have any ready lost and oh my word, this stuff is brilliant! All I do is apply some to a cotton round and just rest it on my lashes and eye make up, leave it there for about 20 seconds and the make up is basically off! No harsh rubbing or tugging needed. This is definitely a product I would recommend to anyone who wears a lot of eye make up.
Last but of course not least, is my I Heart Makeup Death By Chocolate eye shadow palette. This has been my go to palette over the last month as all of the colours are so natural which makes them all very day friendly then theres shades in there to enhance or smoke out a day look which I love. Not only that, the shadows really are very blendable which can be really helpful if you're in a rush in the mornings. I did a review on it which you can check out here!

Leave your favourites below :) x
