MAC Japanese Maple

I upped my photo game with this post.. Oh yeah! When I take my time with photos, I actually get somewhere, I'm just trying to find the balance I think.
ANYWAY, meet MAC Japanese Maple, the new love of my life in nude lipstick form. I am quite fair so all you fair ladies will know that it's not the easiest to find a lipstick that actually looks nude and not too pink or too brown. (I've decided I want a 'browner' lipstick now, I'm indecisive!)

This is a beautiful nude colour that for me works perfect for my skin tone. I don't know what it is with my lips but my lipstick always looks better within about half an hour of applying it because it's settled into the skin. I'm not a bold lipstick wearer, I'm not sure if that's a bad thing but I find it makes finding a nude shade because I'll try one that I think is fine, then I'll look and get scared I'm being too bold. I'm a wimp, it's true!
Japanese Maple is frosted light beige shade with a Cremesheen finish and I can say that it looks nothing like the picture on the MAC website.. Random point I know but I thought I should put it out there! I rarely by make up online unless i've seen blog pictures etc of it or seen it in real life, just because I feel like the website doesn't actually give me much accuracy. This is my first Cremesheen and I was pleasantly surprised. The texture is lovely and creamy and it gives the perfect shine to it where I personally don't need any gloss which is nice because there are just some days where my hair is down and there is all sorts of weather conditions outside and gloss is just the devil. You ladies know what I mean!
I never thought that I would become one of these people who have a large Mac lippie collection but now I have four, I feel the need to by more! I would love to know what your favorite nude is from Mac, I always buy one when I'm close by as the Mac store is no where near me.
I'm actually wearing it in this rare selfie.. excuse the frizzy tufts of hair -  it was windy!

So ladies, next on the agenda is a same shade or 'browner' matte finish lippie.. any ideas?!
Also, let me know what you think of Japanese Maple!

  2. I love this shade, its one of my favourites from MAC. I do like it being a tad darker than most nudes!

  3. Ooh, that shade looks absolutely lovely! I've been looking at expanding my nude collection lately, because most of my lipsticks are pinks and red (I just love bold colours!) I don't have Japanese Maple, but I'll be in a MAC store soon so I might need to have a swatch! I know how easy it is to want another two MAC lipsticks for every one you buy -- I've ended up with a lot (darn those limited edition collections!), but it can be hard to gage on the website how the colours look, because I have noticed that they can sometimes be different. MAC Rebel was like that to me!

  7. Ohh I'm loving the look of this nude! I've been seriously into nude lipstick recently, which is quite a change considering my big collection of bold lippies. I love the fleshy, pink light nudes (does it make sense?) just like this one!
