MAC Virgin

I'm pretty excited for this post as it is well over due. If you've followed my blogs then you will know that up until the 28th March, I didnt own any MAC.... I know, okay, I'm sorry. I dont know what I was thinking but I have always been about the high street life but then I thought you know what, I deserve a treat!! so I treated myself to some higher end brands and mainly MAC.

Just want to put it out there that once you go MAC, you never go back.

What first caught my eye is this beautiful Minerized Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle. It is perfect for a highlight on the cheek bones and really warms up the face.

I'm not a huge blush person but I really liked this shade as it has a slight gold shimmer along with a slight peach undertone. Perfect for summer rather than a bronzer. This is Warm Soul.

Couldn't go to MAC without picking up one of their staple products. Fix Plus has helped my make up last throughout long work days!

Along with Fix Plus, the Pro Longwear Concealer is a must have product and I don't know where I would be without it. For concealing I mix the NC15 and NC20 together as that then matched my skin tone and for an under eye concealer, I actually just use NC15 on its own.

I have so much more I want to purchase but for now I wanted to share the few things I already have!
What MAC products do you recommend?

Facts About Your Skin You Probably Didn't Know...

Hello My Sunshines.

I'm always talking about what I love to put on my skin and my favourite products but do you really understand what the effects of these product have on your skin? Whether it's good or bad, you won't fully understand until you get to know the skin you're in. So, I have made a list of facts that you may not know about your skin.

Your skin renews itself every 28 days.

The thinnest skin on your body is found on your eye lids and it is 0.02mm thick.

Your skin sheds 30,000 dead skin cells every minute.

When you were born, it took your skin 6 months to settle into it's permeant skin tone.

Acne is caused by the over production of cells that line the sweat gland. That is why the best way to treat spots is by applying facial oils as it tricks your skin into thinking it's already produced enough oil and so forth so it won't produce any extra.

1/100 adult men suffer from acne where as 1/20 adult women suffer from acne. Men get it all really don't they..

Vitamin A - treats sun damage and cellulite

Vitamin D - reduces spots and helps growth

Vitamin C - is an antioxidant, helps vitamin E regenerate and helps sun protection

Vitamin E - is also an antioxidant, helps protect against suns damage and ageing so vitamin C and E work well together

Too much Alcohol, Salt, Sugar and Caffeine can visibley damage your skin

and lastly...

Your skin starts ageing in your early 20's. Wow...

I actually didn't know some of these, its good to know things about your skin so you can actually understand what products you may need or what the products your actually using are doing for your skin.

Let me know if you have learn anything and if you know any fun facts about skin!

First Impression! YSL Rouge Volupté Lipstick

Hey guys.

So if you follow me on twitter then you would have seem that I had a little delivery today whilst sat work! I have had my eye on the YSL Lipstick range for quite a long time and I finally decided to purchase one. I personally like to buy a lipstick colour that I know is going to suit me and I'm going to get good use out of, that's why I got Number 1 Nude Beige.
Now I have heard mixed reviews about this lipstick, some say that they think it's not worth the money as it feels quite cheap but I do want to state that it does say that it is silky so it is initially going for the lighter feel rather than the thicker lipsticks avalible.
Please excuse the bad lighting and no swatches.. I couldn't get a light to do it justice!

Look
Well we all know that it looks amazing! I love the packaging, it's so pretty and I love the idea of the different colours to match the lipstick shade on the tube. The design is stunning!

Application
It's pretty smooth on the lips and definitely does glide on beautifully. I like that the lipstick shape is smaller so application is more precise.

Finish
I would say that the finish of this lipstick is an intense sheen. I can't say that it's a glossy finish because it's really not but it definitely does have that slightly shiney look.

Colour
I love the colour of this! This is quite a plain colour, I'd say it's definitely a beige but with a baby pink undertone and it does have a good colour pay off.

Pros
Feels so silky on my lips! It's so lightweight which personally I love as I'm just starting out in the lipstick scene so I don't want anthing too heavy.

Cons
I didn't wear this lipstick for a long time but I could already tell that it's definitely not going to be long lasting. It's no major issue but I know that I'm going to have to reapply a few times during the day.

Overall, I am a stucker for the packaging I'm not going to lie...! But apart from how obsessed I am with the packaging, I really like this lipstick as I think that is good for first time lipstick users because of the light and soft texture.

Do you have any YSL lipsticks? Leave you links below, I'd love to have a look!

London Haul! Boots

Hello Pretties!

Today is going to be the items I got from Boots in London! I also got some Smashbox products too but I gave them a whole blog post of their own (as I was so excited) that you can see here. Some of these products are new to me and some of them are back ups for when my favourite products run out!

This is Rimmel London Lipstick in 206 Nude Pink. This is a pink lipstick (obviously) with an orange under tone which i like as it adds some warmth. I wouldn't say it is a nude colour as such but it gives you something extra to your natural lip colour and its prefect as an every day lip colour. It has a lovely sheen too it.

This is my holy grail product. I don't have many products that I can say are amazing but this is definitely one of them! I haven't even finished my last one and I've already brought a second, that is how much I love this product. It is the No7 Exceptional Definiton Mascara and it is brilliant at getting perfectly separated lashes with length aswell.

I love this mascara! Firstly, I use the above to get the separation and the length of the lashes and then this Soap and Glory Thick and Fast Mascara to thicken up my lashes. This reminds me a lot of Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara just the bristles are a little more spaced out. This is back up for when my current one runs out!

This is the L'Oreal Paris Lumi Magique Instant Radiance Enhancer. Thats a mouthful! I'm not really sure on the colour of this, once I blended this into my hand, it gave me a nice bronzed look. I think that it'll be good when it gets to summer time where I can have a 'no make up' day and it'll enhance a natural tan. It's so light like a mouse and gives and very soft finish.

Recently, I have been really into L'Oreal foundations and I am yet to try the True Match which sounds insane as so many people own it! but I saw this and I thought it would give it a go! It was sort of difficult choosing a colour so I couldn't decide between Rose Pearl and Rose Porcelain. I always go for the generic 'ivory' like i feel most people do and then work from there either up or down the colour chart. This however is the most perfect colour for my skin! It really does just melt on the skin and gives you a beautiful dewy finish.

These eye brow pencils are perfect for my brows. I find these so handy and the fact that there is a little brush on the lid helps the process to become quick and easy. These are the Rimmel London Eye Brow Pencils in Light Brown and Dark Brown.

I have had my eye on the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks for quite some time now and I saw that Seventeen from Boots were doing their own range so I thought id see how they sit on the skin. It's a lovely intense shimmer for the cheek bones but I think it only works with the more bronzed look. It is quite pigmented and gives a pink/bronzed colour pay off which can be a little too much on the subtle make up style.

This is the L'Oreal Glam Shine lip gloss. I have a lipstick that is way too light on my lips so I was after something that's going to counteract the colour and warm it up. This colour is in 101 Pink Moon which is such a pretty name! I love the finish on glosses and they have the perfect amount of pigmentation to match with the lipstick.

Have any go you guys tried any of these? Let me know!
Leave me you links below, i love looking at different blogs.

My April/May Wishlist

Hey guys.

So in between my little London Haul blog posts (because there's lots to take photos for) I thought I would post about some things I have recently come across that have made their way onto my wishlist for the next two months. I don't make a monthly wishlists as you end up spending way too much money but anyways, I hope my list inspires you to treat yourself!

1. Milani Baked Blushes in Luminoso, Dolce Pink and Rose D'oro. I think these blushes are beautiful and ive heard nothing but amazing things about them. Can be brought from beautyjoint.com.
2. H&M Black Tote Handbag. I LOVE my new Michael Kors Handbag but that bad boy needs to be treated well and is definitely not for everyday! So this would be the perfect alternative! £29.99
3. Beauty Blender. I just want to see what all the hype is about!! £10

4. Lime Crime Lipstick in Babette. Nicole Guerriero my beauty guru idol wears this lipstick beautifully so I want to see if it really is that good! Can be brought from beautyjoint.com.
5. The Balm Hot Mama. I am intrigued by the colour.. that is all... £13.50 feelunique.com
6. Bobbi Brown Instant Pretty Kit (online only) I really really really want one of their Shimmer Bricks and then i saw this! This is £56 and the Shimmer Brick on its own it £32 so technically your then getting a mascara, eye liner, lip gloss and brush for £24.. BARGAIN.
7. The Balm Cindy-Lou Manizer. I've heard so much good stuff about their highlighters and the packaging and the word play is so much fun! £16 feelunique.com
8. The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer. Pretty much the same reason as above... The reason why I've chosen these two and not the Betty-Lou Manizer is because its a bronzer/highlighter and I personally prefer my highlighters to be light tones like pinks or creams rather than browns. £16 feelunique.com

London Haul! Smashbox

Hey Guys!

Ok Ok Ok Ok I cannot tell you how overly excited I am to of brought this product!! I have been waiting for SOOOOOOO long to get it. I think you know what i'm talking about right... it is of course the Smash Box Full Exposure Pallet!! wowsers it is every inch beautiful. Now I don't own any of the Urban Decay Naked pallets and I cant tell you why other than the fact that they don't attract me! I am thinking about purchasing the Naked 3 because I think that the pink tones in the pallets are going to be good for summer shadows but I'm not extremely bothered either way. Not only that but everyone wants them and think its must have which I can see why it can be handy but the fact that everyone wants one and think its a must have makes me not want one as much... i'm strange i know. I say all this and ill end up getting one now!

Anyway, back to the main topic, Smashbox! Not only did i get the Full Exposure pallet, I was scanning my eyes over the products and I saw this highlighter. I don't own a cream/liquid highlighter as I tend to go for the pressed powders but once I swatched this, I was in heaven and I had to have it!

So the Full Exposure pallet is just amazing. Every colour in it, I will be using as they are basic colours that any one and every one can use. I just love the fact that you have matte and shimmer in one pallet, its the perfect pallet for any occasion! The colours are so pigmented and they are so soft on the skin. You get no fall out, they don't crease and they are definitely long lasting. I love the detailing on the packaging and especially love that face that it comes with a brush that you can actually use to create a good eye look instead of those little sponge tipped applicators which are the worst!

The Halo Highlighting Wand that I purchased really caught my eye as I really love highlighters and I don't have very many of them at all so I saw this and instantly fell in love. It comes in like a wand dispenser form and then has brush tip on the end. The brush tip as you can see isn't a big fluffy one, they have set it so it stays in shape for better precision. The highlighter comes in two colours, Gold and Pearl. Obviously I got the Pearl as I am fair skin toned and I felt the Gold was for more natural bronzed skin tones. Now be warned, a little goes such a long way but it is really worth it! It is such a pretty colour and although you cant see very well on the picture, it does have that pink tone in it when it hits the light, just like a pearl does.

What are your favorite Smashbox products?

I hope you all have a lovely week!

London Haul! NARS

Hey Beauties!

So i have finally pulled my finger out and started blogging about my purchases from when i was in London! With moving and everything, I just haven't had time to chill out and blog like I normally do but I am back and in full swing of things now! I brought a few different product brands as I like to branch out into high street and higher brands as its good to have a range! Most of these products you will see I would say are medium to high on the cost scale.

Something that i had been wanting for a very long time is the Nars Bronzing Powder in Laguna. This product came in at £27.50 which is why its obviously not an everyday purchase, but its definitly worth the treat! The reason why I have had my eye on this for such a long time is because of the colour. It isn't often that you get a good brown colour as a lot of them can look like they have a deep orange undertone and for a high street brand, that's fine but I wanted a good brown colour instead of a Tan which most bronzer's are. It also has a beautiful golden shimmer to it which is nice and compliments it well.

This is my first Nars products and I was so excited to be purchasing it as everything about it is attention to detail which I love!

It has a huge mirror within the compact which I love and the matte black finish on the outter packaging really makes it look like that extra detail to attention went into this product. Its definitely going to be one of those products that I will keep inside the box it came in just to keep it pristine.

I think I will have to dedicate a new draw to my higher end make up as its definitely something i want to keep in good condition.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend and stay tuned for a few more items from my London haul!

March: Month of Photos.

Hello my beauties!
I know, I know, I know I haven't been around! I cannot tell you how busy i have been! I have actually been having withdrawal symptoms haha!
So as you will know it was by birthday last week which means I did A LOT of shopping and all though I may not have purchased a ton of make up, I brought some higher end items. Now I can't decide how i'm going to blog about them.. whether i do a big haul then blog reviews once i've used them or just do one by one.. i don't know, but in the mean time, I saw some one who blogged a month in pictures and i thought that is was so cool so I thought why not post that whilst i'm pondering! Its nothing special but i thought it was a cool idea so i think ill do it every 1st for the month before! I'd say this one is probably just the second half of March as that is where it gets exciting! I went Whittlebury Hall Spa, London, got the keys to my new house (you'll probably see more on the next 'Month of Photos'), started packing and had a good birthday! If you look close enough, there's a sneak peak at the things I brought in London! enjoy :)
