Review | Makeup Revolution Golden Sugar Blush Palette

I love a good palette, having so many different looks in one product excites me. Yes, that is slightly weird, but I love me some makeup and the more I can get out of one product makes me very happy. This is the third blush & contour palette that good old Makeup Revolution have come out with and of course they have not disappointed with the quality and shades. The palette comes with 8 shades, a range of baked highlighters, shimmery merged blushers and baked bronzer shades which is a whole face look in one place, handy Andy! I love the marble effect from the blushers as they give off a great multi demential colour on the cheeks that makes you glowing. There is a great contour shade in there as well and we all know I love a good contour.. I'm generally quite obsessed with eye shadows (as you all know) so what I actually thought is that you could pack on the champagne coloured highlighter colour onto your eyelids, blend out the corner and crease with a warm light brown shade and create a beautiful naturally shimmery look which can be dressed up for evening time with some liner and lashes or kept for a natural everyday look. This is the thing I love about this palette, it's very versatile and you could create a whole makeup look just using 4-5 of the shades. Not only all of that, it has a HUGE mirror and that seriously earns points for me because I'm always doing my eye make up in mirrors that I can hold so I can see what I'm doing a lot better and this makes life so much easier.
So, I'll just put it out there and let you know that this palette is only £6. Yep, you read that right, my new little multi-tasker is only £6. Considering it's great quality, lovely pigmentation and a great all rounder, you'd probably feel pretty silly if you missed out on this one. You can pick this bargain up on the Makeup Revolution website with the Awesome Double Flick Liquid Liner as well because that is AMAZING too and if you're going to treat yourself you should do it properly.
As the month of December is literally a few days away, I'm thinking that this and a few other items (especially the eyeshadow palettes) would be perfect stocking fillers and let's be honest, at the cheap price it is, they make great secret Santa presents too, double brownie points in the office. Full of smart ideas me..
I have to say that these palettes just keep getting better and better every time a new one comes out, which seriously excites me for the next one. I need to get my hands on the other two palettes available now I've seen this one, I feel stupid for not picking them up in the first place!

Let me know if you have tried this too, I would love to see what you think!

Makeup Revolution Awesome Double Flick Liquid Liner

Me and my liner did NOT get on. Then one day, I received this little gem from the lovely people over at Makeup Revolution and its changed up the whole game. The Awesome Double Flick Liquid Liner is a double ended liner (dur) with a thicker tip and a thinner tip on the opposite end. I have such a hard time getting my liquid liner right as I used to be the fool that bought the liners that have really long wands and you just cant get the precision you want. This is the key point in why this is so much easier to use. As the body of the liner is that bit thicker, when you hold it you are holding it closer to the tip, giving you the ability the be a lot sturdier and giving you the precision you need to create and equal wing. I'm no liner expert but the key is to be really light handed and us small strokes and build up your wing then connect it to your lash line, after that you can then go ahead and fill in the areas that need liner. I've always thought that when you have liner and lashes on, it really pulls a look together and makes it look completed. It may sound stupid and you've probably heard it all before, but practise really does make perfect in the case of liner. It smells fear, so its important to be cool and collected around it, you will master it I promise! This liner is only £3.50 and considering its going give you such an easy life, I would highly recommend a purchase.
I created the look below using the Makeup Revolution Salvation Palette, What you waiting, What you waiting, What you waiting, What you waiting for? which is one of my all time favourite palettes for the neutral shades. Its bloody good to be back creating looks again as I'm finally feeling a lot more positive about situations, so keep an eye out for lots more to come!

MAC Heirloom Collection - Beige Eyeshadow Palette

I'm back with some more MAC on the blog today, what can I say, I'm spoiling you and myself! I picked this little gem up online, the same time as I picked up the Nude Lip Bag set (which can I add, is amazing) because I couldn't handle just picking up once item when there was so much to choose from. If you want to have a look at the first MAC Heirloom post then you can see that here! The packaging is following the same vintage and sparkles inspired look as all the other items which you can see is amazing and I love it because i've never seen anything like it before. I don't have a lot of MAC which may seem odd to you guys but I'm one of these people that likes to peruse the counters and my closet MAC counter is in a Debenhams 40 minutes away. You feel my pain?!
These are my first MAC eyeshadows, so I was pretty excited to check out the pigmentation and all of that palva.. Of course, I wasn't disapointed! The pallete is quite small, which has its upsides and its downsides. The negative side has to be the price, £32 seemed a little steep once I had recieved it. Yes, MAC is technically high end and the formula is great but when you think about a Urban Decay Naked Palette being around the £37 mark with 12 full side shadows and a full size double ended brush where as this is 8 small shadows and a small sample double ended brush. On the upside, this is a perfect for traveling as it is small, compact and still has a good range of warm shades to create quite a few different looks.
The palette consists of two rows of 8 shadows, the first row has Her Mistress which is a cream coloured Matte finish, Sweet Sovereign a very light gold shimmer with a hint of rose Lustre finish, Faire Maiden a shimmery gold Lustre finish, Tempting a chocolate brown with a gold shimmer and again a Lustre finish. On the second row starts with Omega which is a grey toned beige Matte finish, Quintessential is slight darker shade of Omega but with again a gold shimmer and is a Frost finish, Mystery is a cool toned light brown satin finish shade then last but not least Night Whisper is a deep cool toned brown velvet finish. You can achieve a day time and a night time look with this palette and its quite versatile to complexions. All of the shadows were so smooth even with the different finishes, none of the shimmers were at all gritty and they all had pretty bad arse staying power which is handy with oily lids even without primer.
Altogether I'm pretty chuffing pleased that I got my hands on some of this collection as both of my new pieces are top notch!

Have you picked up any of the MAC Heirloom Collection?!

MAC Heirloom Collection - Nude Lip Bag

I'm back guys.. I'm sorry for my absence to the blog, theres been some life dramas that have had to have my attention over the start of November but its okay because I'm back to blogging with some great pieces to show you guys! So, let's crack on..
Christmas time is fast approaching and if you're a makeup junkie like myself, you know that means a hell of a lot of Limited Edition christmas collections.. And minus bank balances.. But its christmas right?! We all deserve a treat and I may have purchased a few over the last few weeks.
This was one of the first (and definitly not the last) purchases and you all know it had to be from MAC. Every time something from MAC that is Limited Edition comes out, it's normally gone before you can even get on to the website and decide what shade of lipstick you want. This time it seemed a litte different as quite a few items were still available online even after a few days, so this is the only time i'll allow you to stop reading this post and head on over to the MAC website. Only this once though..
The bag is the cutest little sparkly makeup bag and it's has a good depth for all you make up essentails to fit in, so it will probably end up in my handbag as it's perfect handbag size.
I've had a lipstick before (obviously) but this is the first lip pencil and lipglass I've ever had from MAC and I'm completly converted! All three of the items are incredibly pigmented, even though the lipstick is a Lusture and it's supposed to have a sheer finish, there is still good pigmentation coming from it. My favourite out of the three has to be the lipglass as they colour is just perfect for me and it gives me a true juicy nude lip. I know that the trio doesn't look like they will mesh well, but the different tones make it quite a universal trio.
I really love the attention to detail on this collection, including the box it comes in. Yes, I'm one of those weirdos that likes to keep all the pieces of the packaging! I cant help it, it makes eveything look pretty and you can't deny that you find it hard throwing away that cardboard box..
For £32, this bag is really a bargain. If you think, a MAC lipstick is £15.50 for a permanent collection one, around £14.50 for a lipglass and £12.50 for a lip pencil so you're already saving £10.50 with a makeup bag on top. Like every other girl, I love a baragin so this makes me so happy and my bank can justify the spend.

Have any of you guys had anything from the MAC Heirloom Collection? Watch this space as theres a little more from the collection coming on Pretty Chit Chat soon.. Yay to Christmas!

Winter Survival Guide | Part Two

If you haven't already checked out part one of my Winter Survival Guide then you can read that here.
Now let's get onto the topic that is my expertise, beauty. Keeping your skin hydrated and moisturised is the complete key to making your it survive through the winter. Hydration not only helps your skin protect itself from the weather, it gives you a great finish on your make up and on your body, it helps blood circulation. A few of the best items I've found for hydration is the GlamGlow Hydration Mask which deeply penitrates the skins surface to moisturise the lower cells, the Nivea Express Hydration Primer is great for a morning hydration under the skin and the Garnier Intensive 7 Days Hydrating Lotion which leaves your skin feeling amazing. See the little key word in all of those.. How many times can I say hydrating..
It's important to get your Skincare routine in check during winter and I always swear by starting with the basics, cleanse, tone and moisturise then add a few extra steps where you think you may need it.

With your make up, it's time to go a little heavier. To some, this is not problem - to others, they may feel a little scared but its okay, I wont be letting you leave with cake face. I have a few tricks up my sleeve for keeping your make up stay put.

1. Blusher
To add to the staying power with your blush, then apply a cream blusher first and then get a tiny dusting of a similar colour powder blush on top, that will set it.

2. Lips
Keeping that bold lip in tact is easier than you think. First of all, line your lips and fill them in with a lip liner then apply a layer of lipstick. Grab a tissue and blot your lips once followed by a dusting of powder. Then apply another layer of lipstick on top to really set it onto your lips.

3. Primer
Yeah, I know some of you are like, I do that anyway? You might do, but its time to change it up a little and apply something a little more moisturising. It doesn't if you have oily skin, you still need moisture!

4. Good Skincare Routine
Cleanse, Tone, Exfloliate and Moisturise. Its basic, but it does make a difference to your skin. You want to do this routine at least once a day, I tend to do this at the end of the day to make sure most of my make up and dirt of the day is off my skin, this gives such a better base for your make up.

Here are some of my top winter makeup and skin care picks!

All the above can be purchased from selfridges.com or harrods.com

Lastly, let's not forget about your hair. I'm terrible with my hair, I have to admit but the wind seriously dries out my hair and it also makes it terribly knotty. I already hate brushing my hair, so you can only in again what I'm like after being out in the wind! The best thing I've found is to apply a mask on your chill out no make up day, (because if you're going to look rough, you may as well go the whole hog) and just let that soak in until it's dry and then wash it out. Doing this once a week will really help with the lack of moisture in your hair.

So, I hope my little Winter Survival Guide has helped you guys brave the cold weather! Of course, if you have any tips, feel free to leave them down below!

October Faves '14

I had to pinch myself a little, just to believe that it's November. It is very crazy how quickly this year is going but you know that because every faves for the last few months I've mentioned it! I'm very excited for the next two months because I always like to plan so much during this time as I really love winter. I just have six items this month, I haven't exactly been spendy spendy over October so i'll just show you a few things that I love that I've had for a while.
I want to start off with my absolute holy grail skincare product for this month and probably many months to come. It is the Garnier Pure Active 3 in 1, which is a wash, a mask and a scrub all in one and it is just so good! I will wash my face with it at night, then in the shower in the mornings I use it as a mask for a really good cleanse. I love it so much as I can feel it working and I know it's strange to say but its like a slight cooling or minty feeling so I feel like it's working. I've noticed a hell of difference in my skin since using this, I would recommend it to anyone.
During the colder times, I step up my foundation into a slightly more thicker consistency as I want that stuff to stick around whilst the wind and rain is battering my face! So I opt for the Max Factor Whipped Creme foundation as its a slightly heavier consistency and I find that it bodes well with my skin and stays put. To go with this, I am really obsessed with the new cream blush sticks that Makeup Revolution have come out with and my favourite one is Matte Dream as I am really into the soft baby pink colour on the cheeks. I find it really fresh looking and I don't want to wear a warmer coloured blush just because of the season change! I reviewed the whole range of blush sticks here.
I love love love a bargain and that cute little George from Asda nail polish is the bomb.com. This little polish is £1 and it is actually a Matte top coat. WHAT? you're saying.. Yes, you don't need to splurge out on expensive top coats in order to get a great finish. I have been layering this on top of some pale colours because I'm into the pale manicure look at the moment as it looks fresh and clean which I like. Im really into the fresh look at the minute!
My hair hated me BIG BIG BIG time. So I needed to sort my s**t out and get some decent moisture into it before it just all fell out. I picked this up from Tesco whilst on the food shop (you know half of my food shop actually goes on beauty products) and I think that it was actually half price so I picked it up because you know I love a bargain. This has really hydrated the ends of my hair and has made it look less dry and just more full of life. On the plus side also, it smells really really good! I would recommend the whole range, I just have to use a really light shampoo at the moment so I can't use it as much but it has helped my hair a lot.
Last but not least, a newbie into my makeup draws is the Makeup Revolution Awesome Double Flick Liquid Eyeliner. I have such a hard time doing my liner and I find that its the one thing that can really pull a look together is liner. This has made my liner so much easier as the tips give you much more precision and I've noticed with liquid pens like this that they don't mark as well when you have shadow on but this glides right over that. I would definitely recommend to a liner newbie as it has helped me out so much!

Let me know what all of your favourites are for the month of October and Happy November!
